Shimano Parallax Hub, what Freehub?

I need to source a new (maybe old stock?) 8 Speed Shimano freehub.
The 26' wheel is has a Parallax silver sticker on it and its from a circa 1999-2000 Giant Terrago. The cassette is an 8-speed, 11-30 tooth.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the correct part number?

Have another look at the hub. If it is a Shimano hub then it should have a model number on it.

You can then find it on Shimano Tech Docs and find a compatible freehub body.
Many of them are interchangeable, but also many are not.

Techdocs here: https://si.shimano.com/#/

If in doubt post up some pictures. We like pictures almost as much as we like solving problems.

Thank you Paul. I'll take the freehub off and look for numbers. I was away from the workshop and didn't have a 10mm allen key handy. Im guessing the part number will be stamped on the side that faces the wheel hub, as I saw no numbers when it was attached.

There was a guy on ebay called the adapter man.Used to have a good selection of shimano freehubs etc. at very reasonable prices. His listings also included cross compatibility.Worth a look.I do have a few NOS ones going spare,if you can find out what the hubs are?
Pics a big help 👍.

Thanks captaincowelly. I'll search for him. Attached are some pics. The dust cap is missing from the last pic. I couldn't see any part numbers🤦‍♂️

No problem.Do you have any pics of the hub?Should be Shimano FH-M then 3 digits (or similar) written on it.If the front hub matches, will be on there too.

Tec docs is a good lead. You may find it cheaper to buy a whole new hub complete with the part you want, and swap the freehub over and keep the rest as spares?
