Scott Racing Comp 1999

Retro Newbie
Hi all,
I Picked up an absolutely mint Scott Comp racing frame a couple of years ago with not a mark on it and was wandering what to do with it.

On a budget, (obvs.) I set about stealing components off other bikes I had and raiding the shelves in the shed. I had it in mind to make a kind of 'modern retro' with decent modern forks and brakes, so that I could get out a bit more around the local trails (see pic 1)

In the end though I thought it looked to bulbous in that guise and with the modern components. It wasn't doing the sleek Cross county race frame any justice in the wight department either so in the end I have gone for a more period look. I'm not their yet but nearly... Anyone got an old XTR mech lying around and some V brakes?!?

anyways it would be great to hear your thoughts.

Re:

Always had a thing for Scotts in the yellow and blue colour scheme. (must be because that was the colour of my first bike - a BSO emmelle full susser  - I was 13 at the time and disc brakes and full suspension are like shiny things to a magpie  ).
