Saxon Twin Tube

I've been in touch with a chap who has a Saxon twin tube frame in ok condition possibly for sale, he's not sure of what to ask can anyone give any pointers?

What do you need to know?
value is dependant on condition.
Is a complete bike or just a frame.
Is an original model or the later type after Claud Butler took over the marque.
Pictures would help

You need to see it if you can if not photos the next best thing as that’ll be a very nice project. 👍

Early one before CB takeover.
I sold a later full bike in great condition festooned with tasty period parts for a disappointing £1200 last year.
The frameset should be worth 600, but most prices are down 40%

I think that the classic unusual- shaped frames from the British lightweight era will become well collectable again as the fixie kids of 2005 hit their late 50s

Consequently I would tag
Saxon Twintube
Curly Hutchinson
Bates BAR
And the like as sound investments and currently a bargain.

I've bought and sold several thousand bikes over 30 years, and seen prices fall, rise and fall.

I've got a Curly as part of my pension investment portfolio, so to speak😉

Had one in my collection for a while. Unfortunately it was to small for me so I moved it on a few years ago. As Bike work shop said there's not many about.
.price wise again as BW says market is 40% down.
I reality I think the market was previously over inflated.
I have paid over the odds in the past.
Put a sensible price on it and it will sell.bare in mind the number of collectors for classic frames is getting fewer imho
See what they have sold for in the past. Ebay advanced search.
I sold mine as a complete fixed wheel for £500 with a spare pair of wheels.

Can't beat a curly wurly.
I hope the market does revive cause I have a garage full of classic machines  ;)😎
It's my professional opinion, as bike broker, adviser and investor😄
Let's not consider how many chips i have on the table😉

I never thought the to quality stuff was overpriced though - when it would cost you £2000 to have a new frame of this quality, £600 seems low.

Less than 2 weeks at the minimum wage, to buy something that probably cost 2 months wages when new!

Mid and low quality rises fast and falls fast, but the top stuff is always going to come back.
