Saracen RuffTrax Sport 1998 - solid forks or suspension?

Ian edge

I have a 98 burnt orange version with standard solid forks, I've loved this bike since getting it second hand in 1999. I now trail with my grown up lads and need something that will soak up bumps etc. Can I put suspension forks on and if so what size etc. I understand the geometry of the bike might not suit the swap so am after any expert advice I can get before looking at that route? Cheers Ian

Re:

Hiya.

A cost effective fork would look like rockshox indy, RST, or go as posh as you see fit.

However, if the venture gets complicated by headset, cable stops
or stem choice issues....

Go for a flex stem. Forget ebay for now, wait for jumbles to kick back in or ask here.
As a tidy one seems to be £30 right now.

Re:

No. Do a Google image search for Girvin Flexstem and you will see. However, a suspension seatpost might help as well. It depends on how much weight you're prepared to add to the bike.
