Does anyone on here have ( or have access to) a Sanderson Soloist singlespeed (ideally a 16") and can let me know what the ETT length is, as depending where you look or who you ask, it seems to vary between 22" and 23".

If anyone does have one, what do you think of it, what's the tyre clearance like and will it handle 120mm forks ok?

Thanks people 8)

Andy.

Thanks for that - I'd already contacted them and they referred me back to the info on their website - however, several sources list it as having a 23" top tube and not 22" - here's an example.
In lieu of anyone having one that they can actually measure I guess I'll just have to hassle Sanderson some more....

A mate has an 18" one of these. I could measure it for you but everything would be slightly bigger compared to a 16".

That would be great - at least then I'd know which set of data is correct, as sometimes the 18" is listed with an ETT of 23" and sometimes 24".... :?: :?:

If you could also check if the sizing is a normal centre BB - top seat tube I'd be very grateful.

Better late than never!

Measured my mate's frame and it's 18" centre to top. The toptube, measured along the tube, is 22.5" centre to centre. Measured parallel to the ground it comes out as 23".

Very many thanks, for going to so much trouble - I guess that means that the 16" WILL be 22" ETT, and not the 23" I was hoping for :(

What does your mate think of his Soloist, BTW and what sort of height is he? I'm just trying to get an idea of frame fit as I have no chance of trying one for myself.

He's just a bit over 6' tall but he does have a Thompson 425mm seatpost and a 120mm stem.

He loves the bike. He actually sold all his other bikes and now only rides this. He rides about 8 miles a day to work and back and still does a ride at the weekend. At one point he did have the Sanderson Breath as well but he only rode it once or twice. He's into the simplicity of the SS bikes.

Hmm - maybe 18" is the way to go for me too then , but with a shorter stem (70 or 90mm).

That old blue thing that I'm currently riding is an 18" and that has a 23" ETT and I'm using a 90mm stem on it.
It all seems to fit well but if I could have achieved the same fit but with a bit more standover I'd have been happier still.
I wonder if when Sanderson changed the Soloist colour from the original grey to white (as it is now) if the geometry was also altered, as on the webpage where the 16"/23" top tube is listed the colour is also listed as grey?
*Edit* - although this contradicts me.... :?: :?:

I'll hassle them a bit more, but thanks once again for your time, input and trouble. It's very much appreciated :D .
