I have driven a Forester through over a foot of snow with nae bother at all.

Reckon we are in for a hard winter too.

I know what Foresters can do in the snow; a few years back we had two feet of it :shock: before Christmas. It was like civilization had ended but no one had told me.
Even last winter, with no snow but plenty of rain, the extra height came in handy. Puddles a plenty, maybe with hidden potholes...
I put an offer in on an outback today,perfect for me. full dealer history but tatty.my sort of car. 3.0 H6, timing chain, not belt. big, big boot, but then I'm thinking if I'm only going to be getting 25mpg I might as well get a Foz turbo. More fun,and very rarely have mine not been big enough.
3 weeks to find one,before they turn my toes into kebabs...

Is that two BBC feet. Or real ones? (With BBC feet, you can usually see the white lines on the road). ;o)

And after having worked there (in the warranty/quality department) i'd not buy a SAAB that had been built after about 1995.........

Now this isn't revisionism, not any desire to be nostalgic about it all, but I think around the mid 90s were where cars seemed to be at their optimum, in recent times, anyways.

Electric control and sophistication up to a point that did make sense. After that, it's seemingly just become more intrusive and contrived, and has replaced a previous era's maladies for a new age era of maladies.

Someone must have spent a small fortune on replacing the bushes. Despite 120k on the clock it drives like a new car.

Very nice Subaru. Could imagine considering it too.

My father bought a 9000 anniversary new in 1997. He still drives it. Apart from issues with the after market sunroof, the car only needed regular maintenance. The 9000 never came with a GM gearbox, unlike mentioned on the previous page.

My current cars are a 900 classic, V760 and Sigma. Will post them up when I find the show us your car topic.
