OK, just fitted a set of RX100 brifters to my vitus http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1119009#1119009 to use in conjunction with Shimano 600 tricolour front and rear mechs (as seen on the bike in the link) the issue i am having is that the shifter does not appear to be pulling enough cable to shift up without the derailer rubbing on the chain. I could be missing something and so I will go through all of the steps in the process I have gone through:
Fitted shifters, downtube stops, new cable inners and outers.
Shifted down as far as the shifter will (until it stopped clicking)
Adjusted the stops on the mech.
Wound the adjusters on the downtube right in.
Pulled the cable tight and routed over the little tab on mech.
Adjusted the indexing on downtube.
Then tried shifting up, the shifter pulls enough cable to shift up but just does not pull enough cable to sit comfortably in the big outer ring. I have gone through the process 5 or 6 times and still it does not work.
I am riding a sportive on sunday so really need to get it sorted by then!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
