Rust spots in stone chips - best method to remove/touch up ?

I’m currently restoring a 1990 GT Tequesta in the nimbus paint scheme. It’s a labour of love but not a garage queen but the paintwork has some rust spots in stone chips or welds in a few places of the bike. Do you have my suggestions of the best way to remove these ? T-Cut seems a bit too watery for the task and not quite strong enough.

Any thoughts ?

I would try a tiny dab of Kurust in the stone chips then a suitable touch-up paint over the top. Try an inconspicuous stone chip first.

What about where a splash of rust is over the top of the paint ? (No chip as such)

Almost like rust sitting in the surface of the paint or in a weld ?

Is there anything chemically lightly abrasive like t-cut but better ?

I use a glass fibre pencil. Got mine in Halfords but probably cheaper online.
Great for cleaning up bolt heads and blemishes on aluminium parts as well.

The glass fibre pencil sounds good - I think I'll have to get one. I've used Silvo silver polish for rust spots on handlebars, derailleurs and even minor rusting on frames but WD40 and a cloth is probably just as good: both amount to soaking the rust and rubbing it away. The glass fibre pencil might be a better solution though.

Try a suede brush along with autosol. It’s not to heavy but gets the rust out completely after a few goes. You can usually pick up a suede brush from most shoe shops
