Shimano SIS Front mech
Shimano Shifters (3+7) have lever to switch between friciton & indexed

Do you still have this bike...?? I had one "when I was a lad...!" Mum and Dad bought me it new around '93-'94... This was the "higher"market one as there was another model but for life of me I can't remember what it was called... Was a really yuk yellow colour.... I still have it tucked away in my dads lock up but this one looks better nick than my one...??

Good Luck With sale

Never heard of an RE mountain bike but it's possible they were a name licenced out by Raleigh. From memory the RE motorbike company was brought by Norton-Villiers at the end of the 1960's and then when the British motorbike industry ate itself in the 1970's there was a big fire sale of assets, trade names etc. Raleigh acquired the bicycle rights to B.S.A, and Triumph- both better known for motorbikes- in this way. Our local car accessory shop sells new girl frame Triumphs "Licenced by Raleigh".

The alternative, that it is an Indian built mountain bike is also a possibility [And maybe explains the Himalayan name], an independent RE company has been building Enfield motorbikes in India since the 1960's.
