I recently rode BMX wih an old BMX friend of mine who still works in the cycle trade. He and I have ridden BMX together since the 90s, and I also knew he has always ridden MTB too, like myself, but little did I know that he was also a founding member for the Truro Rock Zombies MTB group that cropped up a few times in MBUK back in the day. I loved reading abot those guys back then, they rode some cool sold quarries etc in the south west, and they are all back in touch and planning a reunion, even though some live in the USA now. I'll be sure to get some pics up as and when it all happens!
He also rode on the Cosmic Trail team in the late 80s as well, and remembers riding races with full padset, and frame bag/saddle pack etc, all in bright neon yellow/pink!
If anyone has any pics or info on both the Rock Zombies and Cosmic Trail from back then, it'd be great to see. And to hell with it, why not Local Motion as well.
Cheers!
Steve

The scans are all here on the site somewhere steve. Would be great if all the oldschool Zombies had a bit of a reunion though.

Hows life in the BMX game these days, the shops looking cool, and i have it on good authority that you have it all sewn up in Tavi mate.

Keep up the good work bud......... 8)

I used to love that stuff, my first bike, was kitted out with the full Cosmic Trail kit in purple! I even have a couple of New Old Stock Cosmic Trail pads for sale in the sale section if he wants to relive the Rock Zombies days!

I remember reading about them as an essex based teenager. I now live on the doorstep of their old haunts and often ride the trails i used to read about. 8)
Be very interested to hear about any reunion plans!

Hey Sinnerman, thanks for that, the BMX shop is going well thanks, very tough times with complete bike sales vs online giants, but locally we've got a great loyal base which is good, and our mail order keeps us going throgh these quiet months too!
Benbonty, what pads have you got for sale? I'll be sure to tell him!
Bren, it's lovely down this way isn't it, even if it rains solidly. Great biking for sure.
His name is Mikie Richardson, and he is a mechanic at Clive Mitchell Cycles in Truro, a top bloke, and talented rider. He's a tinkerer too, has built his own frame from bamboo, and turned his hardtail DMR Sidekick into a full sus frame, all by 'eye' , rides a treat!
Cheers,
Steve

i built my titan half ton as a tribute to the rock zombies

white and spatter

Brilliant, and my mate Mikie replies to that thread too [ as Mi16kie] !
He's on the bike with the green forks and XT thumbies.
