Rock Shox Deluxe shock with thumbshift lockout thingy

I would be very leery about using a lockout shock on most FS frames unless the manufacturer either specs one, or endorses the use of one in writing. In general, they're designed to have the forces distributed through the stays/linkages and into the shock. Taking the shock movement out of the equation can have catastrophic effects. BITD we were racing DH on San Andreas frames, and toyed with the idea of running a billet shaft in place of the shock for DS. We ran the idea by Rob (Reisinger), He damn near had a conniption, told us in no uncertain terms that the frames weren't designed to handle static loads, and NOT to do it.
