Road Riders

Re:

Went for a pair of Giro road shoes, a nice combination of snug heel and broad toe box suit me perfectly. Materials much nicer and softer than the shimano shoes I also looked at.
Dura Ace pedals are a work of art. Glad I went for the longer axles as I like my cleats set slightly heel in and I've lots of clearance. Cleats are huge with lots of support, and much more stable to walk in than the old style look cleats I've tried before. Release tension is really stiff though even on minimum setting, I suppose they'll loosen up a bit as the cleat wears.

Only had a short ride this evening but could tell the difference over MTB shoes. You all were right, the stiff frame needs proper shoes. Had that proper dancing on the pedals feeling when out of the saddle. This could get addictive.

That's nice clubby, really liking the svelte seat stays and those wheels.

Got a bit of a doing today, thought I was a bit fitter than it turns out

Liking the new wheels, not so sure about the tyres

Chickened out and got a set of ksryium elites, seemed more (boring) practical in the end. Its not fixed the deep section carbon itch.

That looks nice :) how do you find the white bartape? easy to keep clean?

Easy it's only 60 miles old!
Actually had white on the Colnago for a year now and it's not actually too bad. Just have to be careful when doing maintainence.

Re:

Thats me entered the Ken Laidlaw Sportive if anyone is interested. Its a very nice traffic quiet course, well stocked cake stops anaw :)

Woman at my works trying to encourage herself to enter that. She's new to road cycling but is a hell of a lot better than she thinks she is. I to have heard the cakes are very good but I wont be joining in.
