RIP my top right molar

Rather not say in open forum
and tbh it was 30 yrs ago so im not totally 100% on the name now. might confuse it with another reputable dentist but i wouldnt reckon there would be many practicing out of Glasgow in the min 90's that was struck off.

He's bound to be in his 70's by now so its water under the bridge for me. Unfortunate, how were parents to know etc etc etc shit happens in life and im actually exceptionally lucky so im sure thats karma's attempting to balance out the equation

Its all left me with a sour taste in my mouth  but i am quite concerned about the entire dentistry industry as im not going to call it a profession ever again
Am i right here as this is how it was explained to me by a consultant recently-
Each dentist is the owner of your dental records and the record doesnt follow you if you change. It is required that you ask or your new dentist asks to see use them and at that point only the new dentist gets to see them and base if needed his treatment on that.
My medical records like everybody follow them and are accessible from any doctor/health professional center with the system buy the dental are his own :?
Seems odd because if you have been through a number of them it would be difficult to track them all down and 'ask' them for a copy. That to me seems unfair as its my body the records are of and therefore i would think the copyright of anything printed from such would be my property
You probably not heard that one before  but it is a fair point to make an possibly a relevant one. Sure he has completed work and if recorded there would be joint ownership but i reiterate that if its me myself and i then shouldnt the dental records like the medical records follow me around and be accessible to all health professionals.

BLAME MIDLIFE FOR THE HIJACK. He wasnt to know though that the Scottish members of this forum have actually contributed more than the other areas combined. Engage a Scots in talk at your peril

Who needs teeth any way. I removed 2 of myn with a bmx while my mouth was still shut lol. Then on xrays they found a big absess in my jaw an said if i hit the other side of my mouth i could of broke my jaw. So then they took the back left wisdom an next tooth in out an drilled my jaw. 4 teeth later. They wanted to graft some rib on my haw to let it heal then screw fake teeth to it in about 3 operations over a long time. Was a.out 16 at the time so here i am with 4 still missing lol. I wasnt going to go though that. Saying that they are going wonky slowly round the ones i knocked out. Got a pic will dig it out. Had about 24 stitches iny lip area where my teeth escaped lol. I found one but it had snaped the other came out clean an they would of put it in if i found it ha ha. Get some nice smothies an soup you will be fine

UM,

short reply = Steven, I hope you are better. My teeth are bad - and i have had root canal work, about 16 abscesses and a load of removals - leaving me with no molars on my left side at the moment. I have had stitches - maybe 8 in one operation to sort out an infection. Teeth area a nightmare!!!!!

Had a few abscess's. First was very painful and couldn't sleep or do anything for a few days.
Sometimes rubbing Sensodyne toothpaste on the affected area can numb it.

I had an abscess some time ago, 90's, went to an emergency dentist, I didn't have one at the time, he laid me down while two butch nurses with folded arms kept guard, really was like that, and he pulled and pulled until it crunched, probably into a million pieces, most of which remained in my gum, was more than a week before the shards fell out and until then I could not close my mouth fully as the shards cut into me.

I will say I've never been treated like that since, dentists on the whole are quite good at their job, they just don't like doing anything more than fillings and extractions on the NHS.

I got a molar out before Christmas - still bits of bone coming up through the gum. I think the longest i waited was about 3 months for bits to come out.

If you don't have Sensodyne toothpaste - try rubbing whisky or brandy on your gum to ease any pain.

And I din't tell you about the wisdom teeth extraction a few years before  nightmare
