Rims

Local Wheelbuilder might have a pile of older rims he'd sell me.
Not too sure what as yet but ill find out on a visit next week.
Anybody looking for some older[or odder] rims post up the name and models and ill see if he has them and what price he's willing to do them for.

Thought i might give this wheelbuilding lark a bash.

PS whats the feeling about the older 321 rim non disc?,i was thinking of using them for my build.[sorry it is disc only]

You mean the Mavic 521? If so they're as strong as hell and I'd love a new pair myself!

Nope,sure he said 321.It was one of those hurried calls where much is said so i might have caught him wrong,but i dont think so.

There is a 321 disc only version about,from i think '04 :?

They're at the back of the storeroom,so i couldnt ask to look,ill wait and see.

321 is a disk rim, 521 is a regular rim, both generally DH oriented.

Fingers crossed its the 517 then,i think they cost about ?£25 or £30 when they came out.

i love the d521 . still got one on the front of the kona at the moment . sadly its worn to the point where its leaving chunks of metal in the pads so its disc only now until it splits

they still fetch a few ££ on ebay . i remember when they cost £30

any idea what mavic calls it these days ?
