Rigida Chrina - big MISTAKE

I have a 45cm long car tyre lever in the bike-basement since I started dealing with folding tyres. broke off around 3 plastic tyre levers alone with one set of Conti GP 4000 and killed a few brandnew tubes ....

It works.. but the first tries were a full workout. Now I got used to... since I use it no losses anymore :)

Not something to carry in the saddlebag when out riding in the middle of nowhere :)

There was a thread here ages ago about tyre problems and I think that a few people recommended a particular tyre lever. Unfortunately, due to my senility I cannot remember what it was. I have some notion it was not Park Tools but that may be wrong too.

Getting my coat now ...

Hi Guys get some VAR RP42500 tyre levers ive had a set for over 20years and never failed to get a set of my tyres on . I also take them to work every day (sanctuary bikes these days) and never failed to get a customers tyre on.
var designed them for tight fitting tyres you dont run the risk of damaging your rims or pinching your tubes.
they cost £7.99 if you cant find them local to you let me know.

Another thumbs up for the VAR.
Available at spa cycles or bike plus

Also note, that once a tyre gets used it stretches a bit and isn't the bugger it was the first time

Putting on tyre with normal levers runs a big chance of pinching the tube.
Metal tyre levers will scratch the coating off rims. Not nice if they're anodised
