RetroRoadRide Series Rd 1: Cheddar Gorge ~ 08/03/14

Table at cafe booked for 8 @12:00 midday, so we need to do 44km's by then. Only one hill to climb so should be ok.

So far we have;
Bobbinogs
daj
Grumpy commuter
Uncle Monty
Pyro Tim (maybe)
Flouroforks +1
Bugloss, provided he can get his new brakes sorted or its "man gears" for him.

Any more?

We may get away with no mudguards as it's been dry but bring something to sit on instead.

Please download the GPX file and put it on your thingy, if you have one: http://www.strava.com/routes/193227

Just wanted to send my best wishes for the ride quickly followed by envy. Normally I'd have come down for this as family means we're often in Wells but that visit is fixed for the following weekend. I've been meaning to ride up Draycott Steep (New Lane on the maps) which I suspect you will come down after Cheddar Gorge. Probably better coming down than up as it is very narrow and seems to have a surprising amount of traffic - generally down into Draycott. (And part of me wanting to ride up it is that a local friend has never yet managed to make it!)
Weather looks promising, too. ...green.

Ready, except for some minor adjustments to the seat and rear mech cable.
Brakes......... Check!
Granny gears....Check!
Shiny......Check!

Not sure exactly how tall Ed is tbh.

6'2" and ride a 64cm frame which fits well with a regular Campag aero post on the limit. That said, the 66c, Gios is also a decent fit. I may be unusual.

Is that bike setting the standard for this event? If it is I hate to drop this on you all but i've run out of autosol.... Not letting the side down am I?

Well......not really.
The standard is that you turn up, that's pretty good in my book.
