'Regular' canti's for CX set up request

i did ride frogglegs and i have to say ist really not a brake, more some kind of speed regulater.. i changed to koolstop, it helped but not much..

now i use pauls thy are great, but way to expensive, get some old XT or DIA cantis and a set of koolstops thats the best value for money you can get..

I've got Short 4's and they don't squeal. Using XTR cartridge pads.

Don't work very well either. But that's canti's.

:D

this is weird - the canti set up on my 'GT of Mystery' almost throws me over the handlebars, the Mafac cantis on the tourer are set up right, the Muddy Fox I just sold had cantis and they worked perfectly well.

The only canti set-up that doesnt work wel;l at the moment is the Zaskar - as they're NOS and havent bedded in yet....

Whats wrong with you lot?

Cantis do take time to set up but the froggslegs I had worked pretty well,I could do one finger stoppies on the cross bike with em anyway.Never really had a problem with any cantis, much less prone to sticking cables than V brakes.

Onza HOs-Aztec pads, on mine and I can out brake all but my DH bike with em,

Waiting for cracks to appear then I think Kore will get the nod

I use shimano LX cantis. Almost instant to set up and are very tolerant of lever choice. Seem to work perfectly as well. Would like some trad wide cantis just for looks if anyone wants to swap.

I grabbed two pairs of MTB SpeedMaster canti's cheaply off EvilBay so hoping that they're gonna work, if not they'll go onto my other 'Identity Crisis' build and I'll run my Brooklyn Snot Rockets on the CX build up instead.
