Loved the original and Rossiter is unbeatable.. ..

But the new ones with Clunes are very good.. thoroughly enjoyed S1, in the first episode of S2 he goes to the beach

+1 for liking it too, nothing can compare to the original but it's not offensive to the original like most remakes normally are

Totally agree...I didn't get where I am today by watching remakes.

I thought Leonard Rossiter was at his best as Rigsby in Rising Damp.

Brilliant man. . . imo...

I was dreading the remake of Perrin but, since I loved the original (and like Clunes - as a funny chap and actor), had to give it a go.

Imo they done a great job, very sympathetic to the original and worth a try if you liked the Rossiter one

Whatever. . . I'll be watching, and chuckling

Watched the old version and the new and they both crack me up.....clunes is a timing genius as was rossiter so it works really well

He knows nothing....he thinks wearing a shrunken head is the height of fashion rising damp genius
