Reflex carbon ALX 79 Easton tubeset

You would think that with a AL designation and Easton sticker it may be aluminium!

Who knows though, I know very little about the brand.

Reflex was a sub-division of Easton (you know, they make those carbon bars and seatposts), and this bike, as stated in the description, is comprised of lugged carbon wrapped alloy tubes, so yes it is aluminium, but it is also correctly advertised as a Reflex carbon. Wouldnt mind this myself, were it not for the no delivery, no courier silliness the seller insists on.

From the April 89 issue of MBA:

"The carbon DT frame is assembled using the super-clean bonding process where the frame tubes are fit into cast lugs, glued and then baked to dry... what makes the DT frame different... is that it uses a carbon-wrapped alloy downtube along with two other Easton E-9 6061 alloy main tubes. The composite front end is fitted to a chromoly rear triangle that uses wishbone design seat stay."

Also states:

"... the Reflex is not a particularly light bike despite the use of alloy and carbon tubes. The problem is that to secure a long-lasting frame the steel lugs travel deep into each frame tube"

Think I sold my 89 for about £30, as a guide
