Hello. I'd like to try a suspended fork on front end but anxious not to disturb the lightness and balance of a decent frame (Rocky Ridge). Is there anything people would recommend/have tried and found serviceable from the new options available still for a canti or V braked 1 1/8 size steerer? thanks

Re:

Had one and, do suggest something bouncy as they are rather stiff.

From memory rockshox mag21 were a catalogue hop up. Although rockshox indy, Judy, manitou 3, 4, 5 sport etc would work ok, providing they have a limited travel, they do anyway, but I've seen more up to date forks on older frames and look crap, more stood up front end like a motorbike.

Here we go again, but prices are fanciful at the moment on period forks.
If it all gets to faffy, a girvin flex stem with a custom elastomer may settle the issue. Dont pay 45 quid though. Wait for a jumble to come on or, get lucky.
