Re naming a frame?

I agree with Kalum, above, but I always thought it was, or at least used to be, universally accepted practice for bike shop/framebuilders to add their own transfers if you commissioned a respray from them, but probably only if you asked them to, and usually on a frame with no existing transfers on it. I may be totally wrong about that..

FWIW, "Rampon" sounds Spanish to me.

Thanks. Luckily the lettering is just plain block and the head tube badge is quite simple in design.
I could replace the head badge with a simple large 'R' though

Block lettering for resprays is easy-peasy if you know someone with access to a printer that can do vinyl decals in a variety of Office-friendly fonts. My Ribble road frame just has italic Times New Roman transfers knocked up in MS Word which are a good match for the original, although the head tube just has "RIBBLE" vertically rather than the genuine Ribble decal.

Thanks again. I'm going to contact Vernon Barker? about paint and lettering.

Decided on a not very Italian metalic black with light pink d/t and s/t panels colour scheme.
And I've just ordered a NOS 120mm quill stem and matchring 44cm bars to replace the lung squashing 40cm's

And the PITA 6 speed Uniglide cassette, 600EX f&r mechs, d/t shifters and 105 aero levers will go in February and be replaced with some shiny silver 9 speed 105 STI's and mechs Keeping the beautiful calipers and chainset

Oh and the race-blades have taken the paint off where they were fixed to the frame :evil:

There are a few specialists who can produce one-off water-slide transfers.
They cater mainly for the miniature model enthusiats (trains, model aircraft etc.), but they have the facilities to print good quality transfers.
I'm currently looking for a good supplier for my Toledo (see my post; Toledo Cycles London N18 - Anyone know anything about them?)
So far, I've found a couple of good printers, I'll let you know how I get on and what it costs.
The only problem you have is creating the artwork for them.
I took loads of close-up pictures of my transfers and used tracing paper to make a highly detailed copy, then scanned the tracing and made separations in Adobe Illustrator. -I've worked as a technical illustrator for many years, it comes in handy sometimes.
It looks like yours have a metallic gold back, which could be expensive, but if you want to go ahead I should be able to hook you up with a good printer soon.

And I'll see this winter out on it's old paint.
Just been a bit shocked by how much paint has rubbed off from under the clip on guards :shock:

Remember to get some good close-up photos and measurements before you lose the original transfers.
