After a lot of thinking my current plan is to rebuild my 96 Zaskar LE with the bits that I would have bought at the time (if I could have afforded them).... with that in mind, just wondering what anyone reckons to Mag 21 vs RC35 or 36 vs Judy. I seem to remember really wanting Judys when they came out but always loved the look of the Pace forks. Also, been scanning ebay recently and not a lot of Judy XCs around... hmmm...

Any opinions as to which is the 'best' fork?

Thanks :)
P.

I was about to ask the same question. I know a Mag21 would be most in keeping but which one works the best? A pace fork would look ace on my Tequesta but its no good if it's doesnt work!

I run Mag 21s at the moment, just wondering if the Pace or Judys would be a step up. I know Judys SHOULD be, but no idea about the Pace.

(There are some Pace RC35s on eBay at the moment but the steerer is too small... darn...)

I have 97 Judy SL on my 96 Zaskar. I don't think they're much better than mags. They're stiffer in turns and easier to service for me, that's all.
I disagree Pace looks good with any GT, just don't imo. Sorry to say that, I'm not impressed how early Pace works apart they looks nice.
Was fancy to swap judys on to Bombers, but then again yellow SL's just looks very nice so decided to leave them and skip performance factor.

Another alternative would be SIDs but they're pricey. Any thoughts on performance difference with those? Never ridden them.

Can't say much, have modern 2007 model and I'm happy with them. I've heard rumours early ones are fragile.

I was thinking about the 2007 model SID as a possible alternative for my Zaskar - crown to axle is, apparently, only 20mm longer than the old long travel mags... not sure... too many options :)

i gues it also depends on whether you want air, elastomers or springs,
personalyl i like the sound of rc36 evo with the spring conversion that tim (justbackdated)does.
i had a pm from him saying that he has not got the bits for any more yet
but people that have had it done say its great.
and they do look good
good luck

Very good point. Anyone got any views on the difference in ride quality between air/elastomers/springs?
