car forum please - RO80 btw

Oh I don't know... I hear some bike forums accept anything. ;)

Anyway, back to the interesting topic you started...

We have drifted onto considering political posts. I don't think many of the recent political post on here constitute ranting. Most of the worst contributions come from the one line snipers imo. Too short and trivial to be considered as rants.

I wondered if ranting was an accurate description for what you were really ranting against in your rant about rants?

That is... do you consider political posts per se to be ranting or were you complaining about something else? Examples would be useful, take them from my posts if you like so no one need be offended.

Your opinion as a long time poster would be interesting.

Fnar!

You really want my opinion? Honestly? OK:

A while ago, I was annoyed at the Posties going on strike, that thread turned into something quite nasty and not in keeping with the spirit of RetroBIKE, which, is normally pretty light hearted and easy going. I felt very guilty about the whole thing so changed the title of my first post to 'cute fluffy bunnies' or something like that, to diffuse the situation and take the heat out. Just lately I've been suffering from some sort of on-line madness and got into situations which I wouldnt have normally got into.

I am now a casual observer to other 'cute fluffy bunny' style threads and felt the need to diffuse the general chat a bit.

Why bother? Because this normally easy going forum has got a bit too vociferous and I'm good at taking the wind out of some of the sails.

Or not.

And I like boobies.
