I'd choose that or Ultegra 6400 every time.
6400 is great! Prices and in use

I like the earlier shimano 600EX - 6207 and 6208 SIS which would be a better match agewise...

I've never tried that, mainly as I don't have any

Would that be friction shifters, 7 speed and single pivot brakes?

Mike

6-speed and single pivots. The 6207 is friction shift and the 6208 indexed. The first Ultegra group was 7 speed

Re: Raleigh Panasonic

Being an oldie I quite like the 600EX BR-6207 series, it looks very classic / classy :)

Re: Raleigh Panasonic

Thanks for the opinions Chaps.
The frame was manufactured late 84 but an 85 model year, (with the Reynolds 50th Anniversary Decal).
My understanding of Group set Timelines:

Dura Ace:
7200 EX 1978 to 80.
7300 AX, 1980 to 84.
7400 SIS 6 Speed, 1984 to 87.
7400 SIS 7 Speed, 1987 on.

600 / Ultegra:
6200 1978 to 81.
6300 1981 to 88.
6400,(Ultegra), 1988 on.

Rear Spacing is 126mm, so should probably be 600, (6300), or 7400 SIS 6 Speed. Or Super Record of course

Re: Raleigh Panasonic

New 600 EX was 1983

You know how it is, I've been after a Panasonic Team for ages, preferably an SBDU 753 Service de Corse and then this comes along; too good to miss I'm afraid
