Please fit a nice chainset - those ones wobbled and flexed all over the place

Lovely cheap ones here

Thanks for the links Legrande. I am tempted, but always wanted to keep the main components original if possible. Good to know cheap spares are available though...

I received my decals today. Not sure if they are 100%, I have more so if I decide to change them, I can.

Not too sure if this one suits this position...

My favourite!

Been a bit busy with the bike over the last few days. I have received the last few parts I was waiting for, and managed to get everything fitted.

I also managed to get hold of a great set of brake levers, which I swapped out for the tacky looking eBay levers. Brown bar tape also fitted...

The new saddle, leather, £9 :-)

Really nice pedals and clips from Rikki at Pankhurst Cycles, £10

New bar tape in brown leather...

New freewheel from Steel Vintage, £12

New brake levers from Pankhurst Cycles, £10

I have so much praise for the guys at Pankhurst, they have helped me a huge amount. What Rikki doesn't know about vintage bikes, isn't worth knowing! They have all the retro parts you could dream of, and ever so helpful.

Cheers,

Gunter.

Looks really good, think you have done a good job here. Gona have to get over to Pankhurst too as its not a million miles away from me and see what they are all about.

Re:

Update on the Equipe rebuild! The bike has been in the workshop all winter waiting for the sunny season. I found the drop bars very uncomfortable, always having sore hands and never being comfortable.

I have fitted bull horn bars to my Banana and they are superb, much more comfortable and easier on the brakes. I have just come in after fitting a new set of bars, Tektro levers and leather bar tape to the Equipe. It is superb and really looking forward to a ride out!

Cheers,

Gunter.
