Raleigh Equipe rebuild

Good luck with the refurb on the Equipe. I did a fair bit of work on an identical model (that's an understatement!). It eventually ended up as my touring bike and I can't tell you how much I've spent on it. Here's how it looked initially, after its first reincarnation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/63wicsjgtq0pj ... 4.jpg?dl=0
and here's how it looked in action in France thus summer: https://www.dropbox.com/s/omb1fth7wjw00 ... 6.jpg?dl=0
It was the first bike I'd revamped but it led to various other projects. It's a slippery slope into the Retrobike money pit because there's always somebody on here that's selling that nice bit of bling....hahaha.

Good looking bike Meejoir. That is sweet! I know what you mean, but I really want to try and keep the budget down...

I have been told that my frame is ready for collection tomorrow morning. I can't wait, pics to follow!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing this new paint work as i love to see a frame wearing a new coat ;) ..

Re:

I collected the frame today. It looks superb, well finished and very shiny.

The powder coaters sprayed a clear coat over the top as well, making the finish more durable.

The main concern I had was that they didn't mask the threads and holes properly, and it took ages to clean out. Every hole had to be re-drilled to get bolts through. I am happy with the overall look. They also painted the spindle on the front forks, meaning that it doesn't fit into the tube! I will have to get them to strip it back and re-do it.

That looks gorgeous mate and i picked a similar colour many many moons ago when i had my old Dawes scorpio frame repainted in white with like patches of like a burnt orange colour which i really love at 1st then realised yellow would of been better in place of the white but yours looks nice fresh and modern ;) ..

Re:

I've noticed, the lacquered finish by Powder Coating really makes the bike look modern.
Whole different thing to spraying in terms of look and feel.
The finish looks like sweets, feel like eating your frame!!!

Thanks for all of the positive words guys. I am really looking forward for the first ride out.

That's a great colour, looks like a good paint job too. Are you putting decals back on it?

I think I might put one "Raleigh" decal back on somewhere, just have to decide where!
