Hey there guys
Been browsing these forums for a while, but have now registered
I'm restoring a 1980s Raleigh Corsa in Panasonic Colours and i've got a question that someone who knows loads more about bike than me will know!
Its got 501 Reynolds frame, the vast majority of the components are original (apart from the seat!)
On the rear wheel, the cone nut had very bad marks on the ball bearing track, so I had to replace it, and now the wheel spins nicely. However, i've noticed that where the ball bearings run on the inside of the cassette/freewheel (the other side), there are some minor marks as well so i'd ideally like to replace that.
I'm just wondering, how do I get it out, and what would I need to replace it with? I can't seem to find anything like it online, but I imagine i'm looking in the wrong place?
I'm guessing on the rear of the cassette thats a lock ring that I'd have to remove and it comes out?
The cassette is fairly worn as well, so this may need to be replaced
See pics below
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'll start a thread detailing my progress as well, but i'm almost there, so will do a retrospective thread!
