Went to Worcester to dentist.......about 9.40am it rained so hard that in about 90 seconds water was like a quick tide coming down some streets ! some low lying shops got flooded.....it was so quick

Worcester is a nightmare for flooding.

I lived there for just over 2 years. We lived in an apartment down by the Quay fountains (right next to the river). I had to take time off work on a couple of occasions because the water rose to chest level in the space of a few hours and I couldn't get out.

Luckily, we were up on the second floor so the apartment didn't get flooded. It was a very odd feeling looking out of the window to see swans swimming around where there used to be a road and a path. It felt like we were marooned!

Still, we had 2 x PS3s and 2 x HDTVs to keep us occupied, so it wasn't all bad. That, and we had an inflatable Homer Simpson chair which we used as a makeshift dinghy to enable us to paddle across the floodwater to go and get supplies ( namely Carlsberg ;) )... I think I've got a video of our "great beer adventure" on Youtube somewhere...

Find it!!!

Mid 80's over here for the last several weeks with a couple of 104's and next week mid 90's :(

We've had overnight rain a few times here lately but no storms..

Everywhere we've lived in the last 13 years-ish has been on a hill too so we don't suffer with flooding.

There was a tornado in Lincs yesterday though.. picked up a caravan (with enclosed security guard) and plopped it back to earth with a thud, apparently.

There were some spectacular storms out at sea when we lived near Clacton.

We dont have much flooding round here luckily.
Rain and storms have become a favourit of mine lately for some reason.
They say where are your waterproof clothes? I say I AM waterproof.

Was watching the lightning late last night.
