Worcester is a nightmare for flooding.
I lived there for just over 2 years. We lived in an apartment down by the Quay fountains (right next to the river). I had to take time off work on a couple of occasions because the water rose to chest level in the space of a few hours and I couldn't get out.
Luckily, we were up on the second floor so the apartment didn't get flooded. It was a very odd feeling looking out of the window to see swans swimming around where there used to be a road and a path. It felt like we were marooned!
Still, we had 2 x PS3s and 2 x HDTVs to keep us occupied, so it wasn't all bad. That, and we had an inflatable Homer Simpson chair which we used as a makeshift dinghy to enable us to paddle across the floodwater to go and get supplies ( namely Carlsberg

)... I think I've got a video of our "great beer adventure" on Youtube somewhere...
