I've just looked at the route I have in mind.
Comes out at 26 miles ferry to ferry. Cake stop 14 miles in.
This can be adjusted on the day though, depending on weather and legs!
I rode some of the planned route last night.
Really dry conditions for December. I'd removed my muf tyres and didn't miss them one bit!
The weather isn't looking great for Friday and Sunday though so I expect it to be a bit claggier by the time we ride.
I'm not sure I'll be doing any night rides on my own in future though. We were just spinning up nine barrow down when the light on my bars caught some animal lights on the path ahead. I flicked my helmet light on and saw something dark and the size of a small deer move off of the trail and into the gorse.
Not at all unusual (I nearly got side-swipped by an adult deer later in the ride!) until I got to where the animal had been...and found the lower half of a very small sheep there!
It was a fresh kill (still warm!) and had been cleanly bitten in half.
