Think the results are fairly clear. Happy to keep things as they are if that's what people want. Especially given it takes no effort on my part. Did think a split might work but there you go.

As for modern, yes. Would prefer people ensured they marked threads containing modern stuff with [modern] or similar. However given the general hassle trying to define a modern/retro split we'd look to avoid if possible.

You'll make more money if you spilt it....

Who will make more? Retrobike?

Well unlike everyone else I hate the current for sale section.

If you are actually after something it takes forever - partly due to poor titles that many sellers use.

I'd rather spend 5 minutes looking to see if there is something I want rather than an hour looking as stuff I know I don't.

That my $0.02 worth.

Keep as is and give some decent tutorials on using the search function. Or get a better search function. It's quite counter-intuitive!

Indeed, we did try a trade / swap section. It bombed badly....

A pre 95 and post 95 section would be ideal. It would save looking through all the mid skool canal find trash. How many times do you see the title XT mechs to find it's a 2001 mech that looks like it has been dragged behind a bus for a week?

If it was Retro and Non Retro split that would be worth the effort. Otherwise it might as well stay as it is.

But the big problem is a lot of the people don't know what they are selling in the first place. It just says XT on it and so it's XT. The fact there are different models/era of XT doesn't factor in.
i.e most don't know what they are selling or buying, it just looks good and is about right.

I generalise on 'most' , but i'm meaning - with respect to to the people whole just put XT sort of thing.

Just to second the comment on the search function; I'm not generally a technonumpty but I rarely manage to get it throw up what I'm searching for :? Often it pulls up ancient threads too, perhaps the option to list results in order of 'freshness'?
