5:50 AM, I wake up, shower, get dressed and leave the house. Oxford to Chester in 3 hours, the motorways are empty but the rain is heavy.

3 hours later I find my self at a firestation in the center of chester, waiting to meet the fireman owner, soon to be ex owner of my new project bike.

Skip forward an hour and a half and im at my folks house in Leeds, grab a quick sunday lunch before making the return journey south, also an excellent opportunity to get my new purchase out for a decent inspection!

Pace RC100 size: Bloody big!

I put the red paint down to an over order of fire engine red at the chaps work.

Also came with other bits of intrest that i'll list when i get back to Oxford.

I think the inspiration for the top tube came from the span of the humber bridge. Its seriously long.

So as I suspected, its a little on the large side for me. If any one with a Pace thats too small for them wants to do an exchange, im all ears!

Yes he was saying it had some damage to the top of the seat tube, so he took it back to pace for repair. Looks different, but it seems quite a good job.

Also apparantly he had issues with the non drive side crank working lose, so had it tac welded to the axel. Im going to investigate having the weld ground back and have a look at what can be done for it.

This project may take a little time!

Also what does any one think, strip, polish, new decals & lacquer, or strip spray in the grey ford colour then new decals?

hmm I need a plan!

If its just tacked on with weld just use a file, get it down to the level of the spindle then short sharp taps with a hammer should break the weld, someone on here was going to make some Ti adapters for these cranks, cant remeber who it was now though.

Up to you with the colour,im venturing away from the grey/yellow combo tbh, want it a bit different.

Decals may prove a problem too :(
