I like to think I may have inspired this coming off the back burner :)

It’ll scrub up great for almost no money!

TBH, the reason is, out of all my projects this is actually the most complete bike and with being furloughed for at least another couple of weeks... and all other tasks around the house complete.. this is the easiest option

Do you still have the F7 forks or did you take them to the tip like i did.

I dont have the F7's. all i have is what you see ;)

i actually like the RC35's but they are in need of a service
.

Anybody know the safest method to remove the seat post shim? I dont want to go in gung-ho and risk damaging it.

Handlebar stem is stuck inside forks :( Soaking in Plusgas as i type

Re:

Consider using a narrow, flat screwdriver or similar and attack in
The gap at the rear where the frame splits.

Tap upwards below the shim flange.

i guess that might work but dont want to risk breaking the plastic.

decided to leave in place.

So the stem was stuck inside the forks  my first experience of this.

Reach for the WD40

time to bring out the big gun (not much left so rationed)

bars moving side to side wouldn't lift upwards

No matter how much force i applied, the angled insert from the stem rod wouldn't leave the tube...it was stuck in around 60mm. it might have been a simple task to knock it from the underside .... if it wasnt for the captive nut assembly from the bottom bung being wedged in there

I used to a piece of rolled henry cloth to smooth the inside ...

More plusgas and the fucker was out

must remember next time just a few turns on the screw head and pull (with the captive assembly) ... do not release the screw completely
