....any one got any insight....??

Rummaging through the workshop this arvo for things to sell to fund the new build, I came across this which I forgot I had been given. Some friends were going to put it into a house clearance auction along with loads of other stuff, so I 'rescued' it at the time and said I would see what I could get for it....

That was probably over a year ago!

Is it worth anything...? Says The Revenge on button on top, as well as other markings as stated in title...

There seem to be a surprising number aroubnd. I got an NOS (seriously!!!) Lucas oil headlamp as a small present - I doubt if more than £10-20.

I think we need a non-electric Retrobike night ride...road only would probably be wise!

Re:

Looks to be in very good condition under the dirt. I like it. I wonder if its complete, even working ? No doubt needs new seals, no idea what it might use, anyone know ?
Im tempted to make an offer, another piece to collect and one day never quite get around to using

Ive got a few of these Carbide lights & this one looks compete (the burner is there) there is also generally a spring inside the water tank that loads the drip adjuster. Glass & reflector are there so maybe just a clean up & get hold of some Carbide powder fill with water & give it a try.

Re:

Yeah I have no reason to think it wouldn't work, the reflector came up lovely with a bit of polish, the 'wick' thing is there, glass rubber not perished, etc.

Not going to mess about with it myself, if it's not worth much I shall just hang it off a beam in my place, I wouldn't make anything out of selling it as it would go back to the mates that it belonged to....they may have a higher expectation of value than me
