Postage costs for a MTB suspension from US - Uk

I’m looking to get a fork shipped from the US to me in the UK.

The seller took it to FedEx in the week and called me from the office. They said it was $433 to ship which we both baulked at.

Looking on EBay the postage costs range from $50-$80

Seller said he would take it to his local post office (USPS I assume).

I’m happy to pay for it to be shipped as it’s the exact form I want in near mint condition but what should I be expecting to pay?

Why not get him to list it on eBay with global shipping? It’s should be fairly cheap compared and you’ll know import / vat prior.

I was thinking about suggesting that.

Have you tried bikeflights. I have ordered some forks from the US and they are sending via them. Not cheap but I believe all duties/taxes are included so hopefully no surprises when they arrive.

I got a big box sent including forks tyres couple of other bits it no were near that it was about £80 it was canada but they use ups and the american postal service

EBay is hit and miss. Some people want ridiculous amounts for postage.

Welcome to the new age of shipping rip-offs. I sent a RM Titanium frame (just the frame, so about 2 pounds) from Canada to the US with the post office, and with insurance it cost over 200.00 CDN.

America are pricing themselves out of the market with the shipping and the 20% vat they want on top (ebay)
