Postage costs for a MTB suspension from US - Uk

So, I remember seeing eBay listings in the past that had two parts to the shipping costs which I think was shipping and then any fees. That seems to have disappeared and now when eBay shows me items from outwith the UK (as it seems to love doing) there's no mention of fees, vat etc.

It's actually mostly camera stuff I've been looking at outwith the UK so take this listing for example,

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/136446377253?

That's over the £135 limit that retailers seems to have for whther they collect the VAT or not, it's also completely free shipping so nothing is going to pay import fees etc unless that's coming out of the item cost but surely that'd be too good to be true?

Edit: that item even says in the listing "Please Note:
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying
."

I don’t buy goods from Japan via eBay.. it’s always cheaper to buy them directly from JP but I’m pretty sure this^ is down to the fact that Japan doesn’t have eBay, (the platform hasn’t been available in JP since 2004) therefore there is no GSP available for the listing, what you’re seeing are Japanese sellers listing goods on eBay.com (as opposed to the non existent eBay.jp) so you don’t get the breakdown of fees.. they are still payable tho, they’re collected by the courier when they hit the UK border..

Ah ok that makes sense.

I should have worked that out myself as I’ve used Buyee to buy camera stuff from Japan.

EBay likes to show me bike stuff from the US so I’ll need to look at one of those listings.

Yeah, listing from the US under the threshold doesn’t about taxes etc but if I look at one for a couple hundred quid I get options to prepay the fees at checkout or defer.
