I dont know whether this should be in Off Topic or here, but anyway, Paypal claims; anyone done one before?

I have upgraded a Dispute to a Claim, but no response has been made by the seller, although he has to Sunday.

What happens next?

As he hasn't responded, and as it was 'goods not received' will I get my money back?

As a semi-retired big seller I can say one thing, if you are selling and someone claims the seller almost always loses, if you are the buyer you nearly always get your money back. If its your account that's in question (if you are the seller) then they freeze that particular cash until it gets resolved.

Not sure that helps.

p.s PayPal suck

Yes, you should get your money back from Paypal, I had that happen once a few years ago, I fill a dispute form for the faulty item I received from the seller, he didnt respond to my dispute and finally Paypal pay the money back in my account.

Good luck

You (and me) will only get your (our) money back if

a) he has cash in his Paypal account

or

b) he still has his bank details attached to his Paypal account to be able to withdraw cash from
AND
c) there is cash in his bank

I've had to make a couple of claims in the past and have always got my money back with the exception of one time when they couldn't withdraw the money. £75 for a pair of forks gone....

Oh, and another time when I bought a stolen bike that was traced and recovered by the Police. Paypal refused to pay up as I had received the item!

My claim ends tomorrow so will let you know what happens.

Claims can be a complete pain. Mrs C bought something that turned out to be fake - put in a fake item claim. Took months to get the money out of paypal, while others in the same boat put in 'items not as advertised' or something similar and were paid very quickly. Paypal wanted scientific proof the item was fake!

As a seller, always send recorded because there are too many thieving gits out there that will pretend items never turned up.

As a buyer, always use paypal up to the £150 guarantee limit (more for approved sellers I think).

Well, that was 2/3 years ago when Paypal paid the money back to my account, I have no idea if Paypal will do it now, but I am hopeful that you will get your money back, Pickle
