Paypal claims - anyone with experience??

Hmmm, thats a bit of a pain that if he hasnt got the money in his account I lose out

I know in the grand scheme of things £37 aint a lot of money, but its the principal of the whole thing!

Dave - keep me posted matey

Nope, does not need the money in his account. Paypal guarantee is £150, you will get that back anyway - that is Paypal protection.

I needed to get my money back after some shoes didn't turn up that i bought on ebay - it was sorted out in about ten days with me getting all my money back. It's very straight forward once you get it underway, nothing to worry about pickle!

I think there's also a limit on how many you can make a claim in a year, three, I think...

I had to make a claim a year or so ago for £340, the seller told me he would not give me my money back, even though it said he will accept returns, so I filed a claim, then he said if I remove the claim he will pay me, because his account was now £340 overdrawn & he could not pay me, it took a while but I got my money back. The item was not as described.

So it does not matter if he has money in his account.

Just remember to keep a record of all contacts with the guy, its better to have the information to hand should paypal ask you for any info! It can make them look like a bit of a cowboy too if you can say exactly how many times you've tried to contact them and what has been said etc etc

I never got my money back from sunnyjim ( 40 quid ) because paypal can only pay you if there is money there to take out, there is no 150 quid safety net

:( sorry mate

Claim

I too got stung by sunnyjim. The paypal protection is as I understand it only given for items purchased through ebay.
Cheers
Jamie

Oh bum holes :(

I still have all my PM's and emails, so we'll just have to see

 if there is any money in the barstewards account, Dave has first crack as his claim ends sooner!

I purchased something off the bay. Item never showed up. Put in a claim and got squat. " no money in the sellers account, bad luck " Going back over a year now, probably pre-"protection".
Just checked, was April 06.
Case is marked as closed, but every time I look at paypal, it has a big slashscreen telling me I have an unresolved dispute. Go figure.
