Torevesse one of several marques issuing from the firm of Etablissements Verot-Perrin

it was launched by Monsieur Verot by spelling his last name backward and then affixing the -esse
suffix for "exoticness"

launch seems to have been immediate postwar

other V-P marques included Strong Light, Acier Diamante & Verot

here is an Acier Diamante marked chainset worn by a Riva-Sport product of MCMLIII

I'll ask if he wants to.
Surprisingly I've seen many Favorites and parts (some even NOS) for sale here in Finland. I have pictures of a 50s model with Huret derailleurs that was for sale recently.

No markings that I could see and I don't recal if the tube was seamed. The headset is Stronglight P3 as is on the DBS Super Sport.

You asked about the chainguard that was fitted on the Monark, it has no markings and suspect it's from a Tunturi Retki 6 from the 70s. Those came with three-arm/-bolt fauber crank.

I think the Monark will be done for now as I don't know how far I want to take the restoration. All the bolts are almost rounded off, the seatpost is crushed a pit (weird, 24mm size) and for the crank I need to find some acceptable M7's for the age. The bolt hole on the P-knuckle has worn so that there is significant play on the pulley cage. I need to take some material off of the lower knuckle bolt as there is a step after the thread that prevents the assembly to tighten all the way.

Production date unknown, but I would say prototype from the late 60s/early 70s.

Pump stop on top of the top tube so that it doesn't disturb the aero? Belgian colors on the seat tube? Looks like the early version of the 1010/a(301/a) Campagnolo dropouts from '71.

"Avitin Steel"

as you may recall Ateliers de La Rive produced a tubeset termed "Aviation"

doubtless no connection, just interesting...

Post war? Maybe it was a trend for tube manufacturers in the 40s/50s. The "avitin" was just a typo from me, the word "flyg" translates to plane and "stål" to steel, another Swedish source states that the CRMO composition used on the frames was loaned from the airplane manufacturing and thats why the nickname "flygstål".

The wrong with my redder Lejeune is that the head tube is out of alignment by couple of degrees. Don't know how or why, but the fork looks to be straight on all axes so I don't think it's because of a front wheel side-impact.

could see no impact stress markings in the usual places from your posted images

wonder if it was made with this error

once encountered an odd head misalignment on a 1973 Raleigh RRA

[example image only]

evidently Raleigh had their mitre cutter mis-set such that when the head was pressed onto the top & down it sat off-centre when looking straight down on the frame -

- one of those misalignments which is not coldsetable...

Crescent sold Merckx bikes as the 92320 modell from 1986 to mid 90s, but in the 90s the bikes weren't anymore badged as Crescent. During the 80s they also sold Rossin's and Somec's badged as Crescent.

I have from good authority Eddy was indeed visiting Sweden in the this period and beyond.

Bought a Litespeed from a chap who worked in a "larger" bike shop chain that originally had the frame in the shop given as a sample from Eddy.

It was on display for decades and was eventually built up like an Hybrid with XTR and lots of Ti parts and given to him as a retirement gift.

Personally hated it after 200 km and was broken up and flipped quick. Litespeed Appalachian.

Case of a bike with lot's of promise, picked up cheap via bad advertising, but turned out only a sound money making venture for a vulture.

While I will stand corrected, I believe that pictured headset is potentially a mish-mash.

Parts from three headsets, Stronglight for the lock-nut, Torevess for the locking washer, and RFG(?) for the cups.

Understandable too to replace worn bearing surfaces with something French and a low stack height.
