His plan worked then..................went for near on £400 !!! even with the wrong forks.

That's a lot of money, but I suppose 753 SBDU's in that size don't come round that often and all it takes at the end of the day is two bidders. I put some C-Record brake levers on about 4 years ago which went for £150 with two determined bidders. I couldn't believe it!!

Re:

Hi :)
Ye are dead right I ended up paying over the odds for the sbdu, & was very wary of the "0" rated bidder but I've been searching for a 20.5 since the ice age so ... jump & be dammed :) That's the way it goes some times. Just means a lot more O.T........

The PJ has me stumped too....

Ive a super record group-set / 3TTT bars / campag:GP4 wheelset ready to go :) so ill build it up first & ride it/ Ill restore it next winter... probably :)
This is the bike Ive always wanted since my father brought home a raleigh banana around '81 ish. I remember he paid 300 IR punts for it that time (Whatever came over him) which was about 2 weeks wages. I doubt our car cost that at the time :)
It will be nice to do a few sportives on the sbdu & leave the race bike for the racing.
Any advice is gratefully accepted .... :)

You have your dream frame, and for an extra £40 or so you will have forks to match. I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it (unless my missus found out)

+1 for build thread!!

Out of interest (If there is any :) ) after a bit of digging....

The bike may have belonged to Peter Winnen's as his middle name is Johannes (PJ) and he is 5' 7" (20.5") - so maybe . . . Ive emailed Peter Winnin & hopefully will know more later :)
