Endless band front mech is quite possibly correct. Mine has that. The clamp band should be squared and there is a Pace supplied ali shim/adapter, no idea if that's present in this case, that goes from flat to curved and fits between the mech and the frame.Ouch! I think the rusty household bolt instead of the cable anchor on the front mech says it all. Is that the normal fitment for a front mech on a Pace, not a bike I know much about but band on around a square tube doesn’t seem right?
I’m struggling to find anything that won’t still look mullered after a clean and oil on that!
There’s a few brands I wouldn’t feel confident in my knowledge/appraisal of when buying, Pace are one of them. It’s the brands you see on here and the first reply to the post is “cracking frame”!Endless band front mech is quite possibly correct. Mine has that. You're right.I dunno.. i'm always a little bit sad when i see a Star Wars figure still in the packaging or a pristine Hot Wheels car
From one perspective it's a 30yr old bike, it's obviously lived a hard but good life.. a life closer to intended than being perma-polished, the owner has cared enough about it to keep it alive all these years, albeit for minimum outlay, there is something to be celebrated in that.. would i buy it? of course not!
