Some folks may remember this coming up for sale recently - I collected from a very nice chap called Paul in Southam - thanks Paul...

quick strip down in the workshop:

Definitely seen some action, I initially rubbed down with paint restorer to see what this frame looks like with just patina to cover up its war wounds...

Decided to let Cyclone work their magic on the frame and it was sent in for a full dip, shot blast and coating, meanwhile sourced some new rims and ordered replacement decals

fast forward to this week... frame back from Cyclone with their usual first class finish and attention to nooks and crannies...

this may be a marmite moment for some purists - but everyone that passes by my workshop loves candy purple and candy red so candy red it was...

a few little jobs to do before components can be fitted:

decals on, sometimes things just look better when they have their name and identity:

more updates later - still in the process of gathering parts - this could be either period build or 1x restomod - as yet undecided and need to see what it looks like with each first ....tbc

Looking nice that, the colour really pops! Always good to see a decent steel CX frame, especially something such as Orbit :)

Personally I would have opted for white decals but the black does lend a kinda stealthy, more modern look.

Will look forward to seeing what direction the build takes - decisions, decisions!
