Ok, so I finally got around to cleaning some bits and fitting them on the bike.
I got hold of a shorter bottom bracket, 60 x 110 XT UN72 and it seems fine, but actually I think I could have gone even shorter, plenty of crank arm clearance on both sides.
I still need to fine tune the gears and the cassette needs a good clean, but, It's a sunny day so I took it out for a short run and it feels really nice.
I should probably do a full spec sheet as well.

I've just realised that I haven't fitted the DCD! How embarrassing.

And thank goodness you are not radial on the front. Those Hope hubs are mighty strong in 3-cross and let go a lot in radial.....

I was on the lookout for a shark fin, but it hasn't materialised yet. Plus, I wasn't sure how it would fit under the DCD?
Plus, the Hope front hub? Do you happen to know what model it is? I'll take some more pics later, it's just that I really would like a matching rear. Also, the rims don't match, one has the blue label and the other is red, both 121, a bit annoying, I don't think they've ever matched, even from new and having both been replaced at some point.

Ah ha .. finally an easy question!

Yep...Hope Ti Glide Mtb front hub, as opposed to the smaller centre ti tube on the road version.

e.g.

due to another change of plans (see this place for eye candy :roll: ) i've went down the disc path so no longer need these........ the rears perfect , bearings are fine freewheels nice and clicky , no cracks ....... the front has a couple of hairline cracks so i'm really just throwing in...

I have had an issue with the front mech not shifting to the granny ring, it has been sorted by fitting a high mount front mech, bought on here from @Once A Hero , thanks. Not just any old front mech...


Arrived today, looks great.
I have had a bit of an issue when fitting the back brake, the V Brake noodle rubber boot thing has split! Bugger!

Does anyone have a source for buying these new? I've seen lots on ebay, but they don't look right.
