Orange P7 e-commuter

Missed this first time around. How are you getting on with it? I've not got the proper green light from physio yet but been using the one I built recently to go to next village on the parcel run to the PO & myHermes shop. Only 3.5m but involves a big dip in between. I opted not to fit a throttle & it has plenty of kick even restricted. Unrestricted test - it flew around the football field at 20mph plus with little effort.

Nice. Yeah how I'm getting on with this is a moot point as the commute changed so I decided to lend it to my Dad, who appears to be enjoying it. Of course now my commute has changed back and it would be bloody useful...

As mentioned earlier my feeling was that the motor offers more useful assistance at lower cadences than I tend to ride at. Would be interesting to compare to a Bafang as I hear that they give more oomph at higher cadences. In practice on this bike it just meant using higher gearing than usual, I guess I'd get used to it, and it probably suits my dad.

Rescued this back from Dad who has neglected it a bit following a puncture and the purchase of an electric scooter. I'll forgive him as he's in the middle of a fairly epic house renovation. At least he fitted the rack.

Have had time to fix the puncture and give it a decent wash. Might fiddle with it a bit more tomorrow. I'm glad to have it back and planning to ride to work on it. Need to do something about the battery mount though - maybe DIY or maybe just pony up for a proper bottle cage mount type case.

It's now back in action with a few tweaks and a few more planned. Love how it looks. It's done 112 miles so probably just about run in... Could really do with full length mudguards but the lack of a mounting hole on the fork crown means that I can't even fit basic ones without stays. Crud catcher is better than nothing I guess... Anyone got any bright ideas or should I just drill it?

Looks like a great bike mate. I remember following this thread a while ago, been thinking of doing something like this with a bafang mid drive. Only thing putting me off is cable management, which I despise. Yours looks pretty neat though.
