Hi all, I posted this in the pre 97 forum as my recollection of time periods is somewhat faded in my old age! Turns out this is a 98 bike. Having previously had clockworks in my youth, this came up on a local selling site for just over £100 and I couldn’t resist.
Rides really well, forks surprised me as I expected them to be really stiff and top out easily, which they don’t. Not period correct bits on it, it’s obviously been previously upgraded to newer parts in the past.
The forks are heavy though, the front of the bike is like an anchor.
Plans initially are amberwall tyres ( how expensive are these now?!?!?) , new brake levers as they are tatty, some bar ends and potentially a lighter pair of forks. What size is the head tube on these, 1 1/8 or 1 1/4?
Hope you like.
Cheers
