the real question would be, after all the work's been done is it a garage queen or a rider?

Now THAT is the question, is it 'too rare to ride'?

Nothing is too rare to ride Neil ;)

It was me :D

Plans are to strip back to the frame inc stuck seatpost, record paint scheme and decals in detail, have it shot blasted, investigate the nasty bits and plan from there - it'll be a full resto and a XTII/Mavic MA40 build.

Will start a build thread when I get it back to smith towers :D

Well done mate. I think this could be one of the most anticapted builds judging on the stir this bike has caused.

Funny thing is, I (think) am by no means a novice on retro mountain biking and grew up living a breathing mountain bilkes from 1989 - 1995 and yet the Formula was one Orange I had never heard of? Am I the only one.... I mean I knew all about Orange bikes or at least I thought I knew about them.....

So, people will be 'Orange' with envy that Nevadasmith is in the 'Frame' for purchasing this bike and has the perfect 'Formula' for its restoration...

I'll 'Fork' off now.

Groan LGF

Brilliant stuff Adrian, will very much look forward to the build.

BTW, you seem to be bagging a bike a week at the moment, how many you got on the go?

As you'd expect me to say, you quite clearly don't need the Prestige anymore what with this and the prototype Clockwork.

I am just glad that one of the three of you bidding got it.

This sort of frame, needs to be kept alive, as many of them do, imho.

I think Adrian, you have a sensational frames in hand, and i have to say that i am looking forward to seeing them all done and in one place.

So can you enlighten us on the progress of your projects, or is it a Black Ops.

Im particularly looking forward to the DAVE YATES, D.o.n.k.i.s. .n.o.b
DAVE LLOYD C.a.t.s.W.h.i.s.k.a.s And the the formula....!!!!

Im confident they will all be sensational, and i look forward to following the journey and seeing the updates.

Proper cool mate.... 8)

You have all them on the go??? the list of people who maybe bbc bikes is growing

I always wanted a Dogs bollx because I had a tattoo of the same name when I was 16 and foolishly confident

I also wanted a DAVE YATES, D.o.n.k.i.s. .n.o.b because well........like the tattoo ...things go in pairs

Back to the Orange..I hope this isn't going to go into the shed of obscurity and very much am looking forward to seeing it with it's facelift
