Yeah, you could spec them with alu forks from new if you wanted. You could chop and change as you wanted.

I'll measure the steerer tonight but remind me if I forget.

I remembered! the steerer is 155mm with around 32mm threaded.

Out of interest did Orange ever sell steel frames with an Alu fork or was it solely for their aluminium bikes?

Aye - I have a '96 C-16R with colour matched R9 Alu fork. The ebike version in my signature.

I presume you're after a 1" steerer. I have a set of Orange alu forks in my stash i'd be willing to part with, it needs some work but is crack free and straight?

I wonder if you still have a set of 1" threaded Orange Alu forks? trying deparately to source a set for my 19" E3 build!
