Panasonic PR 3000

I bought this Panasonic PR 3000 with a stuck seat post back in May. It has quite a few marks, a dent in the top tube where the bars have hit, an older unoriginal front wheel, I still think it’s quite cool. It is just another tidy up project that I didn’t need but wanted to do.

It’s been cleaned, had a pair of used MA2 wheels on 105 hubs fitted, along with new tubes and a pair of Ritchey race slicks. A shorter and cleaner Sakae stem was used and fresh bar tape was wrapped this evening. Only the chain and some Look pedals left to fit now, then she’s done. I think the seat post will work at the height it is at, if not I’ll try to free it.

It’s worth trying to free it before you complete the build IMO in case you need to adjust the height or you ish to sell it later on…
That was my initial plan to be honest. Then I thought if I can’t free it I will not see the bike finished, which would be a shame. I haven’t spent a lot of time on the clean up, so if the frame is scrapped, its not a big deal, and if the post is the right height for me, I can start riding it.
