Sorry, you lost me when you said you wanted to turn a Zaskar into a commuter and use it for 'light' off road duty.

Agreed ... Sorry dont do it for at all ...why not buy a racer?

"occasional" I said - I mean, never say never. I needed a cheap bike to use it in my town, and was lucky enough to find this one. Now, since I've never tried a Zaskar, I really doubt I'll resist the temptation to take it arond a couple of times on not eccessively rocky paths, that is, light off road use.
