I was quite impressed with my SRAM today. Felt a bit clicky but it is X5. Worked well enough though.
It will settle down with use and you'll then find it changes gear fast and precisely.

Nearly there.

Annoyingly, didnt have any clips for hoses so they are on order and its zip tied.

Also, stem and bars took a while so still got the original Race Face from the mock build which are way too long.

These arrived saturday: 50mm on one hot box stem and super wide el guappo bars. Nice and light and good finish. £9.99 each posted, cant buy average second hand tat for that.

Hoping to get it finished ready for a quick spin on Thursday, but depends heavily on my knee issues.

Re:

Thats a bargain for the stem/bars what do they weigh just out of interest? Hope you get to go out on it soon as the conditions out there are really nice and dry and the temp still good!

Tell me about it! Missed last summer after a knee op, this year hardly done much more apart from mayhem. Hopefully knee lets me have one last ride in the sun before it no doubt clears up and I can go out in the rain and mud all winter!

Bar is 760mm wide and claimed weight of 295g

Free postage is only on orders over £20 so you need to buy something cheap to take you over as the bar and stem was £19.98. Wore my choice today (a £1.99 el guapo cap). Not bad actually!

Re:

Mate that was me over the last 18 months....I had 2 ops on my wrists and one on my back...did little riding and went from 16st 4 to 18st 6! Now down to 17st and still have a way to go but its all been the bikes...keen to hear your opinion on how the wagon wheels roll...although as it seems a bit of an edgy subject on here!

31.6 on this bad boy THM! None of that refined steel malarky!

But cheers fella. I have a seatpost. Have all parts just waiting for a few finishing touches but will get it built in next few days and then report back.

Wookie sorry to hear that Doug. Not fun. Bikes are what's pushing me to get the knee sorted. Else i'd vegitate and or hibernate for the winter and forever more.

I've got a new on one 27.2 seat post here. Any use? Well, ridden once in the dyna.
Stock parkwood comes with reverb so must be 30.9 or 31.6m? Unless you shim it 8)
